Not really presented well in the store, and not under any display unit. A bit off center from those boxes was a price tag for some kind of sound bar ($499.97). Here's the thing - when I went to get the 100s, nestled beside them was a stack of long boxes, and then speakers from other brands. I almost told my wife that I got a pair of new costco-sized pepper shakers to go with the chicken. I then remembered I should probably get food for my family. These are my first sonos speakers ever and I love them. I was really impressed with how one of them sounded and, well, cmon, there are 2?. So fast forward couple of weeks- we're roughly at the end of July - I'm in costco ostensibly to get a rotisserie chicken for dinner but of course - Electronics. A good set for the money but purchasing that made me realize that I wanted to do the whole speaker thing right. So a month back I go to the nearest costco to celebrate the end of my softball season (cause that's what I do at this big age), I, on something of a whim pick up a sub and soundbar bundle (the costco variant of the Sony HT-S400, $199). Tldr - I got the Arc SL from costco for $300 This other way seems like making a good thing even better. I realise that's sort of what's happening now with the iPhone method. Coupled with the iPhone data from the main-listening-position. Knowing exactly how far apart they were from each other and making adjustments accordingly. In a Sonos Surround setup with Arc + 2x300 + you would have many different combinations of sounds & mics all analysiing each other in that specific room. each speaker sends out some tones and then all the mics on all the Sonos speakers in that surround setup, listen in and "the computer" works out some more details about the room setup and speaker positioning from the results. In addition to the current "wave your phone around the room for 1 minute", during an extended Trueplay setup.
And to make ongoing tweaks and adjustments during use. I've always wondered if Sonos could use these built-in mics to assist with an extended TruePlay tuning setup.
